I so enjoyed this small and sweet wedding. It’s so funny seeing some of these Big tough guys and I can say tough because he wrestled with my husband back in the high school days, become such teddy bears on there wedding days and come to find that is what Joe is and he got himself a sweet girl in Roxanne. As you may see this family is very unique and I love them to pieces. God planted a seed in David and Kris to foster then adopt if the option became available and that is exactly what they did with the three youngest kids. The Regt’s kids go to the same school as my children so I’ve been able to watch the process from afar and it has been such a blessing for me to see the hearts of these parents and what they do for these kids that come in. Just recently they had another new born baby at their house and they way they just loved on that baby as if it was there own and knowing that one day it was going to leave for another home just touches me so and reminds me that I am adopted to (The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”)
Romans 8:14-16.

What a great thing! To be adopted by people who love you and to be a part of a family.

This was an amazing and fun shoot with Katie. I brought a well small but to big for girls to carry fishing boat out to this little lake that I love and got some great shots of her on the boat. I liked what she had to say about the experience and that was, ” I never thought that getting my senior pictures done was going to be this much fun.” While here is the fun we had.

Looking back on these pictures makes me want to have summer again and winter REALLY hasn’t even started here in Michigan. Usually by this time we have 2 feet of snow and tons of slush ~ the part I hate the most about Michigan. Oh summer I could have you 365 days a week.

I first met Jorie when her mother called me to do a Christmas shot with there whole family at there house. She got my card at a Biggby in Kalmazoo. Love Biggby! Love the Patterson Family! We talked then about doing Jorie senior pictures and at that time it seemed like it was going to be such a long time, well that time came and couldn’t believe it. Here I was driving down to come capture her special day and to celebrate a special year. It was perfect! Just the way we had imaged and along with God’s help and his guidance. Well we where out, her dad and brother showed up. That even made it more special and fun. This family reminds me so much of my own and well I think that is why I feel so much at home when I with them. I already let them know that I am capturing all there family pictures from weddings…to birth’s (Jorie). Oh ya I’m going to be there and well it may seem like it’s so far away today, but it will be here before we really know it. That is what I love about photography, it’s not a job. It’s about building relationships and being apart of some pretty amazing people. I love you Patterson Family and thanks for having me capture your amazing family.

These are some of my favorite sessions to do. I get to be creative , I get to have the couple kiss and snuggle together for a full two hours ~Love watching people love on each other. This day it was cold out to so I’m sure that Mandy did not mind all the snuggling, it kept her warm.

Love the “Ring”

This is one of my favorites, love the coloring on this photo and Mandy’s smile.

This is also the great part of taking engagement pictures, between all the kissing and having some strange photographer all up in your face with her lens. The two can’t help but laugh! I can’t wait for the wedding day now when I get to have them kiss twice as much and for a much longer time…lol.

Then their is this little man Luca’s. He stoled my heart the first time I met Mandy and Matt at Biggby.

Oh is he not the cutest thing in the world?

Looking forward to the day these people will be able to call each other “Family”. They will make a great one.
